That’s a Wrap

As the semester is coming to an end, and my final blog posts are being submitted this is a summary of what I have learned this semester. I have learned that WordPress is a great CRM program that has a built-in interface that is super easy to navigate, and if you wish to start your own business and need a website, it’s a great way to start. Also, joining Twitter, I see the need for it now. I now recognize Twitter as an essential social media tool to spread the word, and it’s excellent for summing up what you would like your readers to know.

Finally, the video interview that was assigned to us and can be viewed on my blog named, “Interview with CrossFit’s Weightlifting Coach, Dylan Wall” was amazing! I learned so much about editing a video and using B-roll to make the video more presentable for the viewer. The video interview was my favorite assignment this semester. I would like to continue to use iMovie and other video editing programs like Filmora to promote myself or any future employer events. I also would like to work with YouTube more because of its simplicity and accessibility.

As a student in Fundamentals of Social Media, I have learned so much. I recently was interviewed for a Summer internship, and I included assignments that I completed in this course. I know that every single tool that I have learned just in this one class has set me up for success in the future. This course was one of the most engaging and eye-opening courses I’ve had in college. In my summer internship, I hope to use these tools like my experience with WordPress, video editing and creating promotional campaigns to spark more interest on behalf of my company. I also would like to help promote Austin Weightlifting and my Coach Dylan Wall to their highest potential so they can interest more athletes to join.

According to my site stats, my largest viewing was on March 12th where I reached 28 views and 11 visitors. I reached the most from this blog post because it was when we were supposed to review a similar blog that resembled our own. Well, I actually received two likes and comment. The girl that I reviewed her blog even commented on my review in appreciation. Inspiring stuff! I believe it was such a hit because she has a large following and I tagged on my Twitter and promoted her on my blog.

A highlighted post on my Twitter account was when I talked about Avatar Nutrition, an online dieting program costing as much as your Netflix. According to my Twitter analytics, I reached 125 impressions and five engagements. I love seeing all these sides to perfect what I have learned in this class, and with that, I will conclude with my additional comments and appreciation to anyone that has joined me up to this point in this quick video.

Hi, my name is Illianna! And I'm from Austin, Texas. Fun fact about me, yes already into the first sentence here's a fun fact, I am what the locals call a "unicorn." I have lived in Austin for 28 years now, and have yet to love another city as much as this one. Do I need to get out more? You betcha! I live with my fiance, Matt, and our two doggos. I love my job for one reason, I love helping people. My passion for marketing, pr and social media started in my late teen years. I was going to high school and was blessed to have hard-working parents. So much so, they would own their own businesses and become entrepreneurs. I saw the struggle and the difficulty it took on both of my parents, and what made it even more frustrating was the passion and skillset for their profession, but their marketing efforts weren't executed effectively. Now, we swing it back to today! I love my field and I love what I do. There are sooooo many thought leaders, influencers, content strategist that tell us all the time...this is the correct formula to follow to reach "X", but in reality, just like technology, it's always changing.
